Onsure Health is seeking a detail-oriented Medical Coder – Ophthalmology / Optometry with 1–5 years of experience to work remotely. The role involves assigning accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for eye care-related office visits, diagnostic tests, and surgical procedures while ensuring compliance with CMS, AMA, and payer-specific guidelines.
Key responsibilities include reviewing clinical documentation, handling audits and denials, maintaining coding accuracy and productivity standards, and staying updated with specialty-specific coding changes. The role requires strong knowledge of ophthalmology and optometry coding, including E/M services, diagnostic tests (OCT, visual fields), modifiers, NCCI edits, and Medicare/commercial payer rules.
Preferred certifications include CPC, COC, CCS, or CRC (AAPC/AHIMA), with ophthalmology-specific certification being an advantage. Experience with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Athena, NextGen, and encoder tools like 3M or AAPC Codify is desirable. The position is full-time and permanent, with the hiring office located in Delhi/NCR.
